The inaugural season of Pro Kabaddi in 2014 saw eight teams competing in the league. By Season 5, the number of competing teams had increased to twelve. In eight seasons so far, there have been six Pro Kabaddi champions. This is how they became winners. 


PKL Season 8 Champion: Dabang Delhi K.C. 

Dabang Delhi KC won their first PKL trophy in Season 8 by beating Patna Pirates 37-36 to become the sixth team in the club's history to win the title. Two-time MVP Naveen Kumar and all-rounder Vijay each won the Super 10s in the final against Patna Pirates led by Mohammadreza Chiyaneh.

Naveen Kumar scored 207 runs in 17 games, and was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the second straight year. All-rounder Manjeet Chhillar ended his campaign as the team's top scorer with 52 points. The season 8 finale saw the closest margin of victory in the PKL final where Dabang Delhi K.C. became the champion, beating the three-time champions by just one point.

 

 

PKL Season 7 Winner: Bengal Warriors 

The rally of Bengal Warriors saw them become PKL Champions for the first time in Season 7. The PKL Season 7 Finals between the two top teams of the season, Dabang Delhi K.C. and Bengal Warriors. Captain and leader (205 points) Maninder Singh has withdrawn from the final due to injury.

Despite facing Naveen Kumar who was the MVP of the season, Bengal Army did not give up the game. Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh captained the team and gave Super 10 a win in the final as Bengal Warriors defeated Dabang Delhi K.C. 39-34 at the end. 


PKL Season 6 Champion: Bengaluru Bulls

Led by captain Rohit Kumar, the Bengaluru Bulls won the PKL title in Season 6 with the MVP named Pawan Sehrawat emerging as the champion with 282 points.

It was a close fight between Bengaluru Bulls and Gujarat Fortunegiants in the final. In the end, it was Pawan Sehrawat's brilliant performance that won the match. Pawan scored 22 points as Bengaluru Bulls defeated Gujarat Giants 38-33 to claim their first PKL win.


PKL Season 5 Champion: Patna Pirates 

Four new teams were added to Pro Kabaddi in Season 5, but Patna Pirates won the crown of titles. Patna Pirates skipper Pardeep Narwal broke several records during the campaign and produced a trademark 8-wicket haul against Haryana Steelers. Patna Pirates scored 1,050 points in PKL Season 5, the most points scored by any team in a single season.

It was a one-sided affair in the Pro Kabaddi Season 5 Finals as Patna Pirates defeated Gujarat Giants 55-38. Pardeep Narwal won the Season MVP with amazing stats: Most Raid Points (369), Most Super Raids (18), and Most Super 10s (19).

 

 

PKL Season 4 Champion: Patna Pirates 

Pardeep Narwal led Patna Pirates to another title in PKL Season 4 despite Rohit Kumar leaving Bengaluru Bulls. Patna Pirates finished the league with 10 wins out of 14 matches. Pardeep Narwal led the attack with 133 points while Iran's Fazel Atrachali led the Patna defense with 45 points.

Patna Pirates met Jaipur Pink Panthers in the final. Pardeep Narwal scored 16 points in the game to give Patna Pirates their second PKL Trotting Championship with a score of 37-29. Thus, Patna Pirates became the first team to win the PKL title twice.

Winner of PKL Season 3: Patna Pirates 

Patna Pirates won the first Pro Kabaddi title in PKL Season 3. After a short campaign with Bengaluru Bulls in Season 2, Patna Pirates' Pardeep Narwal rose to the occasion with the most raid points (116) to his name in Season 3.

Rohit Kumar of Patna Pirates was named the MVP while Sandeep Narwal scored the second most points (53) of the season. Patna Pirates beat defending champions U Mumba 31-28 to win their first PKL title with Rohit Kumar scoring 7 points in the final.

 

 

PKL Season 2 Winner: U Mumba  

First-year PKL runner-up U Mumba has a solid defense in the league. In 14 matches, U Mumba won 12 out of 12 matches. At the end of the season, they had the best points (196) and the best points per game (12.25).

U Mumba faced Bengaluru Bulls at the end of season 2. The game was close to the end of the second half when Shabeer Bappu's Super Raid sealed the deal for U Mumba in the second half as they won 36-30.



PKL Season 1 Champion: Jaipur Pink Panthers 

The first Pro Kabaddi title was won by Jaipur Pink Panthers in 2014. Despite PKL winning the first match, Jaipur Pink Panthers won 10 of their 14 matches to become the most consistent team in Season 1 of PKL.

Their captain, Maninder Singh had a brilliant season with 137 and finished third only behind U Mumba's Anup Kumar (169) and Telugu Titans' Rahul Chaudhari (161) in the total.

 

Maninder also scored a Super 10 in the final against U Mumba, leading the Jaipur Pink Panthers to their first PKL title, beating U Mumba 35-24.
